Olive-Harvey College volunteers joined the Let's Talk, Let's Test Foundation
On Saturday May 19, 2007, Olive-Harvey College volunteers joined the Let's Talk, Let's Test Foundation and an estimated 300 participants in the 5th Annual "I Need You To Survive" HIV/AIDS Walk, Run, & Bike Ride event. Kickoff and registration began at Tuley Park located at 90th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and ended at Washington Park (55th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive). Walk participants left the park enthusiastic and excited about the cause. Community residents observed, drivers honked their horns, and people shouted in support of the walk. The walk was approximately four miles and the estimated time of the walk was about 1 1/2 hours. All donations from this event will go towards the Olive-Harvey College HIV/AIDS Awareness Fund. Anthony Binion, Olive-Harvey College Director of Student Activities thanks all those who volunteered their valuable time to participate in this event. "Your efforts will go far beyond what any of us can see right now and your presence meant a great deal to the Olive Harvey Community," Binion said.
